History

In 1992 MMD Designconsultants was established by ir. Marc Meijer. At the beginning, MMD was specialized in developing modernized retail products for interior, leisure and lifestyle. From MMD’s point of view these products have to be different, inviting and interesting for the eventual user and at the same time these products have to be safe, easy to use and comfortable.

The first client with great interest in MMD’s approach was Maastricht General Hospital. Then many other companies like Vesteda, Henzo Photoalbums and Royal Mosa. Since 2003 MMD has been the preferred supplier of Brabantia. The cooperation with the American firm PerkinElmer since 2006 has been the international success for MMD till now.

In the strategic area MMD has advised many small and medium-sized companies. The work varied from conducting research in areas like marketing, manufacturing and tender when it comes to design the view of a company. Through the founding of the Limburgse Design Association in 2002, Marc Meijers created a network of companies and organisations in the Limburg district, which are professionally engaged with product development.

At the moment MMD Designconsultants has three members of staff and is located in a classical building in the Bergerstraat in Maastricht. By thinking globally and cooperating with professional innovation partners, MMD Designconsultants is now a well-known concept, not only in Limburg and the Euregio, but also outside this area.
